What we do

  • Emma speaking at the front of a room next to a slide show that is bright yellow and reads 'Joy is resistance, imagining better futures, fighting for those futures (with friends)' Lots of people sit around round tables listening
  • A group of people grin as they strike poses in a large space. Some people are standing, others are crouched or leant down. They are from all ages and backgrounds
  • A group of older people sit or stand around a hexagonal table with papers laid out on it. They are discussing what parts to cut out
  • Four Disabled people wave at the camera while grinning and waving their arms
  • A group of women present a craft and large piece of paper with a story writeen on it. They are dressed in bright colours and the woman the front strikes a dramatic pose as she presents
  • A group of women sit around a table, gesturing as they talk passionately to each other. Bottles and pens are on the table in front of them
  • A group of Disabled people sit in a row watching two people preform a play. One person is sat down with a script, the other person is standing holding a fak baby

We offer joyful creative, playful and narrative interventions and research to support climate and ecological action. We work in this way because we believe that joy is an essential site of resistance and strength. (Read more about what joy and creativity offer to climate and nature action.) We primarily use joy as an engagement technique to support the delivery of sustainability action, education, research or co-creation, but we also create spaces where cultivating joy and improving wellbeing are the only aims.

Previous organisations that Emma and Rachel have provided creative interventions for include: Bristol Climate & Nature Partnership, Sparks, Bricks Bristol and the Festival of Nature.

We are happy to work alongside you on any area of sustainability. We are based in Bristol but if you are further afield we can offer online sessions and, potentially, travel to your location.
